Problem

Blindness due to retinal disorders is the leading cause of vision-loss in developed countries. Assessing the overall health of a person is challenging and requires invasive tests at times.

Opportunity

Imaging of the back of the eye is the only noninvasive method that allows for visualization of the nerves and micro-vessels. Computer-aided analysis of retinal images to quantify pathological signs of various diseases, show the same, or better, sensitivity as a single medical expert.

Solution

Aurteen Inc. will provide a computer-aided diagnostic (CAD) software capable of obtaining a list of probabilities of various diseases being present in a patient. These include retinal disorders, cardiac disease, as well as neurodegenerative disorders via automated analysis of images of retina.

Minimally Viable Product

Aurteen Inc. provides a state-of-the-art software for CAD of a preterm retinal disorder as well as quantitative tools for assessment of signs of severe diabetic retinopathy.
